This Privacy Policy explains how the phaseparadise.app website and the PhaseParadise mobile app (cycle and mood tracking for better relationships) handle data.

1. Controller

Postal address details are not published online because this website is operated by a private individual. Legal or privacy-related requests can be sent by email; you will receive a response within a reasonable time, and in any case within one month.

2. Who This App Is For

PhaseParadise is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if that age is higher, to use the app. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Since all personal data stays on the device and no account is required, we have no way of verifying a user's age. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us.

3. Why We Process Data

• Cycle, mood, and other health-related entries are health data under GDPR Art. 9 and are processed only locally on your device, based on your explicit consent given by using this feature. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your entries or uninstalling the app.
• Core app functionality, preferences, and reminders are processed because they are necessary to provide the features you use.
• Crash and diagnostic data via Sentry is processed based on our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and secure.
• Website hosting logs are processed based on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website.
• The language preference is stored based on your choice, only after you interact with the language switch.

4. Website Hosting

The website is hosted with GitHub Pages, a static hosting service by GitHub, Inc. (USA). When a visitor opens the site, GitHub may process technical data such as IP address, browser request data, date and time of access, and security logs. This is necessary to deliver and protect the website. See Section 10 for details on this international data transfer.

5. Website Cookies & Local Storage

This website does not use analytics tools, advertising pixels, contact forms, newsletter forms, logins, comments, or embedded third-party media.

The language switch stores the selected language in your browser's local storage under phaseparadise-lang. This is used only to remember whether you prefer the German or English landing page. It is not used for tracking.

6. Fonts

The website uses Archivo and IBM Plex Mono, hosted locally with the website. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts to load the website typography.

7. External Links

The website links to the Apple App Store, Google Play, and email. If you open those links, the respective provider processes data under its own privacy terms, which we do not control.

8. App Privacy & Data Stored on Your Device

PhaseParadise is designed with privacy as a default. Personal information you enter, such as cycle entries, mood logs, notes, energy levels, reminders, preferences, and optional partner information, is stored only locally on your device:

• Notes
• Energy levels
• Reminder settings
• App preferences
• Optional partner profile photo

This information is never uploaded to PhaseParadise servers and is not accessible to the developer. The app does not require an account and does not use a cloud backend for personal entries.

Optional partner photo

You may add a profile photo for your partner from your photo library or camera. This photo is stored only on your device in a private app-internal folder and shown on the partner page. Photo library or camera access is requested only when you choose to add a photo; the image is not saved to your system gallery, not uploaded, and not synchronized anywhere.

Backup exclusion

On iOS, the local database and partner photo folder are excluded from iCloud and iTunes backups. On Android, PhaseParadise excludes app data from Android Auto Backup and device-to-device transfer. This means your data does not leave your device even through OS-level backup mechanisms.

9. Crash Reports & Diagnostics

To improve app stability and troubleshoot issues, PhaseParadise uses Sentry, a third-party crash reporting service by Functional Software, Inc. (USA).

Data that may be transmitted:

• Device model and operating system version
• App version
• Crash logs and diagnostic or stack-trace information

Personal notes, mood entries, and cycle data are not intentionally included in crash reports. Sentry acts as a data processor on our behalf under a data processing agreement.

You can turn crash reporting off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Crash Reporting.

10. International Data Transfers

GitHub (hosting) and Sentry (crash reporting) are US-based providers. Where data is transferred outside the EU or EEA, this relies on recognized safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. You can request more information about these safeguards by contacting us.

11. Data Sharing Overview

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share cycle, mood, or partner data with any third party. It never leaves your device.

12. Data Retention

• Website language preference: remains in your browser until you clear site data or choose another language.
• Personal app data: remains on your device until you delete it manually or uninstall the app. We have no server copy to delete.
• Hosting and crash diagnostic data: retained by GitHub and Sentry according to their own operational and security schedules, typically 90 days for Sentry logs. See their policies for current details.

13. Security Measures

Personal entries are stored in the app's private, sandboxed storage area, which is inaccessible to other apps and excluded from cloud backups, as described in Section 8. We keep dependencies, including Sentry's SDK, updated to address known vulnerabilities.

Because there is no server-side account system for personal data, there is no central database that could be breached remotely.

14. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, transfer, and object to the processing of your data, and to withdraw any consent you have given at any time. For app data you can already do most of this yourself: delete the entries or uninstall the app.

If you believe our use of your information violates data protection law, you can contact us directly, or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

15. AI Notice

PhaseParadise now uses AI to generate suggestions and ideas within the app. All content generated this way is marked with this label:

Please treat AI-generated content with caution. It has not been reviewed by anyone. It consists of suggestions and ideas only and must not be taken as fact or as professional advice. AI can make mistakes and can produce inaccurate, misleading, or outright nonsensical statements. Do not blindly trust it; consider it critically and check it yourself.

PhaseParadise does not use AI to make medical decisions, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. AI-generated content is no substitute for advice from a qualified medical professional.

If further AI-supported features are added, this page will be updated before release to explain what the feature does, what data it uses, whether processing happens on-device or via a third-party API, and important limitations.

16. Medical Disclaimer

PhaseParadise is intended for wellness, self-reflection, and informational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or contraception guidance. Do not rely on it as a form of birth control or for medical decision-making. Consult a healthcare professional for those purposes.

17. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes that affect how your data is handled will be highlighted in the app, for example through an update notice, in addition to being published here, with the "Last updated" date revised accordingly.
